BED BUGS EXTERMINATION SERVICE
Guidelines
Preparation for Bed Bug Treatment Or Extermination
Methodology: For the reasons of safety, regulations and practicality, only some areas and articles will be treated with insecticide. Client will wash/heat-dry or dry-clean other articles. And some areas such as kitchen, washroom and dining hall may not be treated.
Clothing, blankets, comforters, pillows and pillow cases, etc would be washed & warm dried or dry cleaned by client, before or soon after the treatment to avoid resurgence of Bed Bugs.
Closets, Drawers, Couches, Chairs, Bed Frame, Mattress-Box, Mattress, Baseboards, Cracks, Electrical Outlet Covers, and Surrounding Area could be some of the places where the treatment may be applied.
What is the Nature of the Treatment?
The insecticide spray used for bed bug extermination has little odor and has a light cream color. This pesticide spray does not stain or damage typical surfaces fo flooring or carpet. The insecticide has a very good residual quality and affects pests upon contact and not by smell, odor or vapors. So it is important that the surfaces where bed bugs are typically seen, are cleaned well in preparation for the treatment. Typically, along with dust and debirs, behind the beds and couches, one would find coins, paper, clothes, and pet and kid toys, etc.
Before the treatment begins, the residents are to leave the area and return after at least 2 hours after the treatment completion. The articles treated may be wet to touch and may need 30 minutes to 6 hours to dry, depending upon relative humidity, temperature and ventilation. Do not use mattress without sheets. We recommend using a fitted sheet and a flat sheet on the mattress.
It takes about 3 to 5 weeks for the Complete Elimination. Hence, it is requested that Client, Sanitize Clothing and Bedding Every Two Weeks to Suppress Possible Resurgence of the Pest.
What to do before the Bed Bug Extermination Service?
In a nutshell, Clean Thoroughly and Reduce Clutter by Organizing and Arranging Articles. Focus on the bed rooms and living room’s couch areas – where you sleep or sit for extended periods.
FOCUS and TARGET the Bed and Sofa/Couch areas.
Only if rooms are spacious, move away pieces of furniture away from walls by about 6 inches to facilitate spraying of the baseboards, etc.
What to do after the Bedbug Extermination Service?
Please, expect that the bed and it’s components as well as the couches and the sofas may be left in the treated location and orientation to facilitate the drying. As well, have suitable and necessary help available to setup the bed and couches, etc, the way they were before the treatment.
Have a a set of clean bed-sheets, etc ready for use.
If there is an accidental spray on a non-target surface, please, wife off the insecticide using a damp cloth or paper towel and discard it.
Do not excessively and in-necessarily clean away insecticide from the baseboard, bed components or furniture except where there is a concern of unwanted contact by people or pets. Leave the insecticide for at least 5 weeks for it to keep affecting pest population.
If you change bed sheets on daily basis, this periodic disturbance of bed components may gradually cause the insecticide to come off.
If you use any cleaning agents and / or insecticides on the treated surfaces and objects it may degrade the effectiveness of our treatment.
The treatment does not instantly kill off all the Bed Bugs anywhere and everywhere in the treated structure. It will take at least 3 to 5 weeks for the Bed Bugs to gradually die off. It is so because Bed Bugs are affected only when they come into contact with the treated surfaces. And as they do not feed on daily basis, it may take a few weeks for all of them to be eliminated. During this period it is expected to see live Bed Bugs. They will die in a few hours after coming in contact with the treated surfaces.
How to Handle Sanitation of Clothing and Bedding?
Typically Bed Bugs do not nest in pillow cases, comforters, blankets and sheets, etc. That does not mean that they can not be found walking on these things.
The articles that are to be sanitized and cleaned by the client may be too many and too much to be handled at once. This task can be broken up into smaller segments and prioritized by putting articles, not needed in near future, in large bags and sealed. Objects for immediate use can be sanitized on priority.
As needed the articles can be cleaned or washed and used on as needed basis. Please, treat fabrics according to manufacturer’s directions in your sanitizing efforts.
Articles of immediate use may be warm washed and heat-dried or dry-cleaned as directed by the manufacturer, to get rid of bed bugs and their eggs.
