Project Description

It’s Best!

  • The Black Rat and the Brown Rat can weigh up to a pound or 500 g in the wild.
  • The domesticated pet rats are more docile than their wild ancestors and more disease prone.
  • Wild rats living in good environments are typically healthy and robust animals. Wild rats living in cities may suffer from poor diets and internal parasites and mites, but do not generally spread disease to humans.
  • The average life of rat is 3 years with range of two to five years.
  • Domestic rats differ from wild rats in many ways. They are calmer and less likely to bite; they can tolerate greater crowding; they breed earlier and produce more offspring; and their brains, livers, kidneys, adrenal glands, and hearts are smaller.
  • Rats are a common food item for snakes, both in the wild, and as pets. Captive-bred ball pythons in particular, are fed a diet of mostly rats. Rats, as food items, are available from many suppliers who supply to individual snake owners as well as to large reptile zoos.

Tell Tale Signs

  • Droppings – almost black and largest among them being the size of grain of rice – are mice excrements. Rat excrements would be averagin at 8 times the size of a grain of rice.
  • Damage – usually the signs of mice chewing and gnawing for sake of gnawing or ingesting food. The chewing and gnawing would create shreds of bags, paper and food items.
  • Nesting signs – You may notice unusual movement and gathering of insulation or other materials.
  • Seeing a dead or a live mouse or a rat.
  • Holes and Openings – these are gaps along the baseboards that have been widened by snawing or rarely a hole is chewed open for access and passage.
  • Smell – A further characteristics is the smell. For an established and old infestation there will become a distinct odor in nesting sites and escape routes.

Mice vs. Rat

  • Usually Mice would forgo what outside world has to offer once they are inside a residential structure. They will survive only on what’s available inside. They would behave in somewhat parasitical fashion.
  • Rats on the other hand can not let their wild nature to go away. They would remain interested in accessing the outside resources and still utilize residential structure as a shelter.
  • Presence of Mice is harder to detect compared with Rats.
  • Rats would cause serious damage to anything they put their teeth to.
  • Damage caused by Mice can be subtle but the droppings would give them away in any case.
  • These pests are most active at night. Mice are more domestic in their nature whereas Rats have tendencies for the wilderness. While Mice try to be very inconspicuous, a Rats’ presence is hard to miss. Also, Rats are about 6 times more massive than the Mice.

Rodenticides are deployed in Tamper Resistant Lockable Bait Stations.

Mice and Rats feed on the Bait.

Frequently asked Questions:

How long would it take for the rat to go away ?

It takes about 3 to 5 weeks for all the rat to have a chance to feed on the bait and then die off. Rat would find the bait during their normal foraging activities. Immediately after consumption, the bait caused no ill effects. The active agent is made to affect with a delay so that rat do not associate the ill effects with the bait.

How should I clean places visited by rat ?

When it comes to cleaning away the excrements and urine from rat presence in our kitchens, standard care should be taken. Try to avoid inhaling the dust and debris. Spray anti-bacterial cleaning agent to suppress the particles from becoming air borne. Then wipe them off with a disposable cleaning cloth. Use of cleaning gloves is recommended.

Do you plug holes inside the house ?

Most homes do not have existential entry points that need attention. Most rat infestation start through the attahced garage or other accidental entry. Our exterminators will inspect the structure for points of vulnerabilities that may result in cause of future infestations or conditions that may be helping the Pest flourish. It will be up to the owner to act on the recommendations.

Can I buy this rodenticide from you ?

No. These rodenticides are registered with PMRA as Commercial and are not sold to the public. Only Licensed Pesticide Operators are allowed to employ these.

Would I get the smell of dead rat ?

Though it is not typical to occur but it remains possible. If a mouse expires near our living space and has enough body fluids to cause a bad smell, the you may start to notice it. In that case, you should ventilate the place and accurate assess the location of the source of the smell. Once, determined, look for a dead mouse and remove it.

Our Preferred Extermination Technique Its Advantages:

There is no Spray, Fumigation or Fogging Application for Rodent extermination. To eliminate these pests we employ bait method. We use most effective baits available from the leading rodenticide manufactures. These rodenticides are highly palatable and contain powerful active ingredients, for the strongest, single-feeding bait. These are utilized for both rats and mice.

Bait is usually placed inside cabinetry, behind appliances, furniture or other areas where it is likley to be seen only by the rodents. The bait is deployed in tamper-resistant and lockable bait stations.

Areas favored by mice are food storage and preparation areas such as kitchens and pantries. Sub-floor areas, behind drywalls and enclosed pipes and ducts cavities are also favored areas.

You are most likely to find the droppings behind stove and fridge. Also the kitchen cabinet under the sink usually is a gateway into the kitchen.

As most infestations start in the garage, it is advisable to inspect it closely for droppings.

Cold room and furnace area in basement are also a good suspect to see if you have mice issues.

Expected Results:

In about 3-5 weeks, all pests would have been eliminated having consumed the bait. Typically, the Pests would simply cease to exist. However, it is possible that some Pests may expire near human living spaces. As well, they may result in bad odors. In that case, client would have to investigate the source and remove it.

Mice and Rats, during their normal foraging activities, will find the bait and consume it. It is common that it may appear that the pests become more active or appear to have become greater in numbers as they may come back a few times to feed on the bait.

Our exterminators will inspect the structure for points of vulnerabilities that may facilitate future infestations or conditions that may be helping the Pest to flourish. It will be up to the owner to act on the recommendations.
